NEWS 2017.02.25 REGARDING FOOD PICTOGRAM LABELING IN RESTAURANT MENUS

In the restaurants (including breakfast venues) of 10 hotels operated by Hankyu Hanshin Hotels Co., Ltd., a total of ten types of food ingredients, comprising seven ingredients with food allergy risk plus pork, beef and alcohol, are shown using food pictograms.

Our aim is to accurately label information related to allergies etc., of food ingredients included in meals, so that customers may enjoy their meal with peace of mind.

■ Details of pictogram labeling

① Ingredients with food allergy risk

(7 items: wheat, milk, egg, peanut, buckwheat, crab, shrimp

② Other food ingredients (3 items: beef, pork, alcohol)

Beef, pork and alcohol are labeled as a convenience for customers when making their meal choices.

■ Regarding the food pictograms

The food pictograms were conceived by NPO Internashokunal based on the results of surveys of around 1,500 customers in restaurants located in Japan and around the world, while taking into consideration ease of recognition, and are used in various locations including international airports.
